I just got back from seeing my extremely talented friend perform as Martha in Spring Awakening. She was phenomenal! I literally had chills as she sang her song. And the show, of course, was great in general, because Spring Awakening can never not be good. Everything from the choreography to the costumes to the performances was just flawless. I’m definitely seeing it again.

And because I wouldn’t be me if I didn’t go on and on about the costumes, hair, and makeup: the costumes, hair, and makeup were perfect! Each character was so unique while still being cohesive. The clothing was fitting to the time period, yet I would wear every single thing they wore. It was really great to see Converse mixed in with period costumes for the male characters. Moritz of course had fabulous hair, as did the rest of the cast.

When the show was over, we all gave our friend flowers, and she introduced us to some of her friends in the cast, and also told the actor who played Moritz that I’m in love with him, because I love that character so much.

All in all, it was a great evening!

About to watch one of my favorite musicals! @lmariegenevieve @theaterfreak333 #SpringAwakening #musicals #theatre

“ The first boy who ever became my boyfriend — who I ever fell in love with — actually sang a song that he wrote for me in front of his parents and a bunch of people at an Irish pub when we were thirteen. That was how he asked me out. And that boy won a Tony for Spring Awakening a few years ago. That was magical. ”

A local theatre is doing Spring Awakening this year and my friend might be in it!

Also, this same theatre did Next to Normal and I missed it. I refuse to miss Spring Awakening.
